This report summarizes a USDA-NIFA sponsored workshop that brought together leading scientists, educators, practitioners, and key stakeholders to identify research, education, extension needs and knowledge gaps, and sought to advance our understanding of key issues and opportunities, including mitigation of toxic elements (arsenic, cadmium, Hg, chromium, lead, others) contamination of US food supply to ensure food safety.
