Information technology services on campus, including computer and telephone services, are provided by the UMass Amherst Information Technology (IT)

• You should receive a NetID and password when you are officially accepted into the Graduate school. Your NetID and password are used to access all of the services provided by IT, including wireless web access on the EDUROAM network
• Use the NetID to activate your IT account in SPIRE, the university records system. You can change your password after the initial setup
• When you establish your IT account you will receive a UMass e-mail account (will look something like xxxxxx@umass.edu)

What if I did not receive a NetID and password?

Contact the IT office in LGRC A113, (413) 545-9400. You may need to go to the office in person to set up an account.

What services are provided by IT?

• MOODLE is a web-based learning management system used by many faculty to post course-specific information such as the syllabus, lecture material, quizzes and grades
• IT offers both free and discounted student software licenses for both Mac and PC. You can download OS system software, email programs, web browsers, Adobe products, and anti-virus software directly from the above site
• IT offers information on free and discounted statistical software
• IT offers several beginner and intermediate level workshops on a variety of topics
• IT offers 24/7 help information at their Online Support Center
