UMass Amherst Brings MassImpact Day to Springfield
The Henry M. Thomas III Center at Springfield is excited to play a part in this year's MassImpact Day of Service on Saturday, September 19, 2026. As part of this annual day of service, we anticipate welcoming approximately 30-40 UMass student volunteers to Springfield to work alongside local nonprofit organizations and support their missions.
Students will provide hands-on assistance in areas such as identifying prospective donors using UMass public databases, creating flyers and marketing materials, providing feedback on websites and social media, and supporting "friendraising" efforts that help nonprofits build stronger relationships within the community.
Hosting MassImpact Day at the Henry M. Thomas III Center will give students an opportunity to experience the Center and engage directly with the Greater Springfield community. It will also create a welcoming opportunity for nonprofits of all types and sizes including organizations beyond Amherst to participate and benefit from the skills and talents of UMass volunteers.
We are proud to help bring more of UMass to the community and more of the community to UMass through a day focused on service, collaboration, and building stronger connections across the region.
