Jill Yordy is a visiting lecturer at the University of Massachusetts Amherst's School of Public Policy. She is also a doctoral candidate in the School of Public Affairs at the University of Colorado Denver. Her dissertation explores the intersection of policy actor beliefs and democracy in local-level housing policy subsystems. Broadly, her research interests include the policy process, democracy, and policy conflict. She has published in top policy journals on research regarding policy conflict and decision making in the policy process, and the role of emotions in political protest. She also brings extensive practical experience in public policy at state and federal levels to her teaching from senior non-profit, political campaign, and state legislative roles.
