A UMass Amherst School of Public Policy team raised $1,695 for the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts during a recent fundraiser, with support from students, alums, faculty, staff, and friends of the program.
This was the second year that SPP fielded a team for Monte's March for the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts, an annual fundraiser for the regional nonprofit. This year, the event raised almost $530,000.
The two-day event, which took place on Nov. 23 and 24, was sponsored by Northampton's WRSI radio station and led by DJ Monte Belmonte, US Rep. Jim McGovern, and Food Bank Director Andrew Morehouse.
Donations to the cause will be accepted through Dec. 31. To make a donation through SPP's team, visit its webpage.
