Professor Gerald Friedman (economics) kicks of the Center for Public Policy and Administration’s fall 2015 Faculty Colloquium Series on Monday, Sept. 21 at 12:15 p.m., in Thompson Hall 620. Friedman will speak about his recent research in a talk titled "Why the Economists Have Been Wrong About Health Policy, and What Can Be Done."
Friedman studies economic and labor history and economics; political economy; and the economics of health care. He has drafted financing plans for single-payer health care systems in Maryland, Massachusetts and the United States. In addition, Friedman has served as associate editor of Labor History since 2003.
The CPPA Faculty Colloquium Series consists of informal talks, often about works-in-progress, with presenters providing a significant amount of time for audience discussion and feedback. They are open to the public and brown bag lunches are welcome.
