In the 4+1 Master of Public Affairs (MPA) program, you’ll gain the knowledge, skills, and practical experience to become a leader in the nonprofit, public, or private sector while creating meaningful social change. Plus, you'll be able to start your master's pathway while still an undergraduate.
The 4+1 MPA is open to outstanding Five College students. Students apply in their junior year and begin their degree program while finishing their senior undergraduate year. This makes the 4+1 MPA one the fastest and most affordable ways to earn a master's degree and jump-start your career.
By starting your graduate year while finishing your undergraduate studies, you will be able to move quickly and effectively toward pursuing your professional goals with the skills you need to fuel your success. Internships and client projects will provide you with invaluable real-world experience.
The GRE is not required to apply to the 4+1 Master of Public Affairs program.
The 4+1 Master of Public Affairs: Other Details
Open to outstanding Five College students. Current juniors at UMass Amherst or Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke, or Smith colleges are invited to apply.
The 4+1 MPA program allows students to double-count twelve credits taken during their undergraduate year that can be applied to the MPA.
