The School of Public Health and Health Sciences (SPHHS) invites alumni and friends back to campus for its 5TH ANNUAL SPHHS FALL CELEBRATION!
Join us on Saturday, September 27th, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in the Fine Arts Center. Enjoy brunch while reconnecting with former classmates, and visit with faculty, staff and students to share your latest news and learn more about what is happening within the SPHHS. The event will include special student speakers and the presentation of the SPHHS Award for Significant Contributions to the fields of public health and health sciences.
Associate Professor of Kinesiology Edward "Ned" Debold recently received a three-year, $198,000 grant from the American Heart Association to support studies to uncover the molecular mechanisms of skeletal muscle fatigue. The work will advance basic understanding of muscle function and should lead to new drug therapies for individuals with fatigue that greatly limits physical function and quality of life, including the 5.7 million Americans living with chronic heart failure.
The School of Public Health and Health Sciences invites alumni, faculty, staff, students, and friends to register for the first-ever Western Massachusetts Health Equity Summit being held on Thursday, October 2, 2014 in the UMass Amherst Campus Center.
