Tuesday, March 2, 2021 - 12:00pm to 1:30pm
Location: Virtual via Zoom
Are you feeling overwhelmed by changing responsibilities of teaching and research in the pandemic? Struggling to be an authentic partner in a community-engaged research project during these extraordinary days? Wondering how this period will affect your prospects for promotion and tenure? We can help!
The SPHHS Center for Community Health Equity Research is pleased to invite you to the next CCHER Mutual Mentoring workshop on March 2, 12-1:30pm via zoom. This webinar will feature community-engaged researchers in public health who will briefly discuss their research and provide small-group mentoring with participants. We will hear introductory remarks from each panelist, followed by breakout groups with one panelist and 4-5 mentees each. Panelists and mentees’ brief bios will be shared with participants ahead of time to facilitate substantive conversations in breakout groups. Please join:
- Dr. Samantha Sabo, Associate Professor with the Center for Health Equity Research at Northern Arizona University, who has focused on the impact of Community Health Worker (CHW) interventions to improve the social determinants of chronic disease and maternal and child health, and
- Dr. Kathryn Derose, Professor of Community Health Education in the Department of Health Promotion and Policy at UMass Amherst, who develops community partnerships and uses mixed methods to co-create multi-level interventions that promote health equity, with a focus on Latino immigrant communities
for a 90-minute workshop on navigating community-engaged and health equity research during the pandemic, and surviving promotion and tenure.
