The Department of Nutrition, the UMass Students in Graduate Nutrition (SIGN), the UMass Nutrition Association (UMNA), and the UMass Kinesiology Club present a talk by sports nutritionist Matt Ruscigno, MPH, RDN, on Monday, February 23, 2015, at 5:00 PM in the Campus Center Room 162-65.
Straddling the worlds of both nutrition/dietetics and endurance athletics as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, MPH, ultra-endurance athlete, and vegan of 17 years, Matt Ruscigno brings a unique and exciting perspective to sports nutrition (and nutrition for the rest of us). He is the past Chair of the Vegetarian Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the co-author of No Meat Athlete and the best-selling cookbook Appetite for Reduction. This past fall, he was one of the featured speakers at the 1st Annual Plant-based Prevention of Disease National Conference. Matt is also co-creator and host of Strongest Hearts, a video documentary series on plant-based athletes.
