The City of Newton is looking for a motivated, energetic environmental health inspector to join our team. Health Inspectors are responsible for a wide variety of work focusing on the connections between people and their environment to promote well-being.  Inspections are conducted throughout Newton in restaurants, housing, schools, pools and other facilities to ensure conformance to health regulations mandated by state government, local ordinances/regulations and relevant public health and safety codes.

Successful candidates must have excellent communication, organizational and computer skills and a background in public health and/or environmental science. Certification in food safety, housing, septic, and certified pool operator a plus but can be obtained as part of employment.
