UMass Amherst Assistant Professor of Epidemiology Andrew Lover

The University of Massachusetts Amherst has received a $10 million, five-year award from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to create the New England Center of Excellence in Vector-Borne Diseases. Infectious disease epidemiologist Andrew Lover will serve as its deputy director.

Associate professor of nutrition Lorraine Cordeiro

Lorraine Cordeiro, associate professor in nutrition and director of the Center for Research on Families at UMass Amherst, was one of five UMass system faculty to receive the 2022 Manning Prize for Teaching Excellence. The prize recognizes exemplary dedication to students and the university.
