The following requirements must be met for the Initial Teacher Licensure:
Major Fields Requirements
I - Advanced Language Preparation
Pick three of the following:
- SPAN 301 - Conversational Spanish
- SPAN 306 - Spanish Pronunciation
- SPAN 310 - Advanced Language Through Culture
- SPAN 311 - Advanced Grammar / SPAN 314 - Spanish for Heritage Speakers
- SPAN 312 - Oral and Written Expression (mandatory to primary majors in Spanish to fulfill their JYW requirement)
II - Upper-level Electives
- Take five Spanish courses at level 320 or above in consultation with your advisor. Only two may be taken in English in areas related to the Spanish major with the advisor's approval.
- Take three Spanish upper level courses numbered 400 and above.
Attention: primary majors in Spanish also need to complete SPAN 394PI and SPAN 494RI in order to fulfill their Integrative Experience requirement.
