On March 4, 2025 Eva Álvarez and Tomás Estrada, Spanish and Portuguese graduate students, organized a roundtable on the recovery of traditional Asturian music, featuring three experts on the subject: Isabel Álvarez Sancho (Oklahoma State University), and renown musicians Leticia Baselgas (Universidad de Oviedo), and Llorián García Florez. Their work was featured in Spain in this piece. The article highlights Spanish and Portuguese Studies' promotion of minority languages at UMass Amherst, our Catalan program and our film festivals.
