To obtain the minor in sociology a student must have taken at least five (5) courses in sociology with at least three (3) of those courses coming from UMass Amherst Sociology.
Only one (1) 100-level course can be applied to the sociology minor.
Sociology 212 Elementary Statistics, and SOCIOL 430: Life After UMass both do not count towards the sociology minor.
All courses applied toward the minor must be taken on a graded basis and meet an average minimum GPA of 2.000 across courses.
Practica, Independent Study courses, and courses taken Pass/Fail are not eligible for completion of minor requirements.
