Bio

Jordan Sanderson is a PhD Student in the Department of Sociology and a certificate student in the Department of Women, Gender, & Sexuality Studies. Their ongoing research seeks to provide theoretical insight into trans/queer legislation constructed by state lawmakers to investigate the epistemological positions that they take when crafting, introducing, and passing laws targeted toward trans/queer subjects. She situates her work in the scholarly traditions of Law & SocietyQueer of Color Critique, and Poststructural Semiotics. His previous work has been published in the Journal of Resistance Studies (2021) and the Global Encyclopedia of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) History (2019). Additionally, Jordan has presented their work and helped to organize panels at the Law & Society Association Conference in 2022 and 2023.
