Eric Blanc is an Assistant Professor in the Labor Studies and Employment Relations Dept. at the Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations. He researches new workplace organizing, digital labor activism, strikes, and working-class politics. His forthcoming book DIY Unionism: How Bottom-Up Organizing, Digital Tools, and Young, Risk-Taking Leaders Are Revitalizing Labor analyzes the growth of worker-to-worker organizing in the US since early 2020. Author of the books Red State Revolt: The Teachers’ Strike Wave and Working-Class Politics (Verso 2019) and Revolutionary Social Democracy: Working-Class Politics Across the Russian Empire, 1882-1917 (Brill 2021). Blanc is a trainer in the Emergency Workplace Organizing Committee.
