Jared Bernstein was most recently the Chair of President Biden's Council of Economic Advisers. He also served as chief economist to Vice-President Biden in the Obama Administration. Bernstein has worked at various think tanks in DC, including the Economic Policy Institute and the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. He holds a PhD in Social Welfare from Columbia University.

About the Lecture Series: The Philip Gamble Memorial Lectureship Endowment was established by Israel Rogosa '42 and other family and friends in memory of Philip Gamble, a member of the economics faculty from 1935-71 and chair of the department from 1942-65. The fund supports an annual lecture featuring a prominent economist.
