Join us for a discussion that brings together athletes and leaders from across the sports industry to explore how collective action is reshaping professional and collegiate athletics. We'll examine how these workers advocate for fair compensation, better working conditions, and greater rights and why now is a critical time for labor organizing in sports.
Opening Remarks:
Robert J. "Bob" Cousy, Boston Celtics NBA Legend and Founding President of the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA), Boston Celtics point guard from 1950 to 1963.
Bill Fletcher Jr., labor activist and scholar, former president of TransAfrica Forum and Senior Scholar with the Institute for Policy Studies, Chairman of the Board for Advocates for Minor Leaguers, Advisor for Sports Solidarity.
Speakers will include representatives from United Football Players Association (UFPA), Professional Women's Hockey Players Association (PWHPA), Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA), and the New York City Coaches Collective.
