"Palliative Care Nursing Home Research: Findings With Implications for Practice, Education, and Policy"

Drawing on clinical trials and implementation-focused studies, this talk will explore implications for clinical practice, education, an health policy. Further, it will outline key priorities for future research, quality improvement, and systems-level change.

Joan G. Carpenter, PhD, CRNP, ACHPN, FPCN, FGSA, FAAN is an expert in geriatric palliative care, specializing in post-acute and long-term care settings. She in an Associate Professor at the University of Maryland School of Nursing, a Health Scientist at the US Department of Veterans Affairs, and a nurse practitioner with Coastal Hospice and Palliative Care. Her research focuses on developing, implementing, and evaluating non-pharmacologic palliative care interventions for people living with serious illness and their care partners.
