This workshop is designed for participants with prior experience using R who want to deepen their skills in data management. If you’ve ever felt like you spend too much time repeating the same steps when preparing datasets—renaming variables, checking for missing values, standardizing formats, or cleaning multiple files with similar structures—this hands-on session will introduce strategies to streamline and automate these repetitive tasks.

We will begin by reviewing common data cleaning tasks. Participants will then learn how to write and apply loops and functions to reduce repetitive code and efficiently clean multiple variables or datasets. These skills will support more reproducible, organized, and efficient data workflows.

Prior R experience is expected. Familiarity with basic data tasks—such as importing data, writing basic R commands, and working with data frames (e.g., creating new variables or recoding)—will help you get the most out of the session.
