Improve your Stata skills!

This two hour hands-on workshop will cover a variety of topics aimed at saving valuable time by ensuring more efficient programming. Topics include: importing data, reshaping data, merging datasets, and creating loops to repeat processes quickly.  Students and Faculty who have some experience using Stata and want to learn new skills and gain more confidence will benefit greatly from this workshop. Knowledge of the Stata interface, Stata Do-Files, and very basic data management skills will be assumed.

Learning Objectives:

  • Import an Excel file to Stata
  • Reshape data (very helpful for longitudinal data sets)
  • Merge two data sets
  • Create a Macro
  • Create a loop
