Tess joined the SGA her freshmen year as the Secretary of University Policy. Throughout her Freshman and Sophomore years she grew to have a passion for student governance and being an active part of positive change on campus. As President, she aims to make the SGA a representative body that serves as a resource for all students.

Joshua Gauthier

Joshua is the only Finance and Economics major in the SGA, and he's worked with students and the SGA for almost 5 semesters and loved every minute of it. Starting out on the Ways and Means S-1 budget team and transitioning to the role of Secretary of Finance, SGA finances are his passion. Coming to this role, Joshua's mission is better the SGA as an organization, to serve the students, and bring President Tess and his down to earth spirit to the SGA! Go UMass!

Anthony Nassar is a senior studying biology on the pre-med track. He is from Worcester, Massachusetts, and enjoys writing, art, music, MMA, and other outdoor activities. He has been involved in a research lab and many organizations on campus, namely House Council and the Residence Hall Association, and serves as the president of the Arab Cultural Association. Within the SGA, he has taken on the roles of Office Manager and Deputy Chief of Staff. Anthony is excited to step into their position as Chief of Staff this year and work with his amazing peers to better serve the UMass community.

Nai is a senior public health and psychology dual degree candidate with a certificate in criminology and the criminal justice system. She is from Taunton, MA and is heavily involved in campus through her role as a Tour Guide, Residential Assistant & President of the Haitian American Student Association. Nai is excited to step into this new role and serve the UMass RSO community.

Ian is serving as the SGA's Attorney General this year. This is their fourth and final year serving in the Student Government. Ian served as a Senator from 2020-2023, during which he served on the Senate Ways and Means Committee, including a year as Vice Chair, and a year as Chair. It has been such an honor thus far being able to serve the student body on the Undergraduate Senate, and Ian is so excited to continue to do so on the executive cabinet!

Tanyi is a senior Political Science and Journalism major. He is originally from Buea, Cameroon but lives in Milford, Ma. He is currently a residential assistant here at UMass and has worked as a CHC ambassador going onto his third year.

Anisha is a junior pursuing a BS in computer science and psychology. On campus she enjoys attending club events and ballroom dance socials, and also serves as Assistant Director for Hack(H)er413. In her freetime, she enjoys baking and sunset walks. This is her first year in SGA, but she looks forward to serving as your Secretary of Technology!

Christine majors in Psychology, minors in Political Science, and also pursues a certificate in Criminology and the Criminal Justice System. She will be serving as Secretary of University Policy for the SGA, and couldn't be more excited. Christine hopes to use this role to maintain the university polices that adhere to students, work on DEI initiatives, and connect with the various RSOs and unions on campus. Maxim will be serving as your Secretary of Finance for the 2023-24 school year. Outside of Student Government, he loves to listen to music, try out new restaurants with friends, and go hiking! His favorite artist currently is Omar Apollo due to his incredible production abilities, his favorite restaurant is Miss Saigon in downtown Amherst due to its affordable and delicious pho, and his favorite hike this year has been Mount Major in New Hampshire. With a diverse background on campus, including working as an EMT, being an RA, and volunteering downtown, she is excited to be a strong advocate for our student body this semester. Jack is a senior Environmental Science major concentrating in sustainability and climate mitigation. He is also a member of the iCONS Renewable Energy Track. He is actively engaged in the UMass environmental action community, where he is the President of Sunrise UMass, the Co-President of Challah for Hunger, and the Vice President and Director of Outreach for the Food Recovery Network. This year, he is conducting his thesis research on reducing waste at UMass Dining with the aim of implementing a reusable container program at Grab ’N Go. Outside of sustainability work, Jack is a Peer Tutor at the LRC and is an avid cook and baker. If you see him out and about, feel free to go up to him, talk about anything to do with the environment that’s on your mind, or just ask him what he baked most recently!

Lorelei Hetzler, from Fall River, MA, is a Junior studying Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Aerospace Studies. She is in AFROTC and plans to graduate with a commission as a Developmental Engineer in the USAF. She is passionately involved in the Newman Catholic Center, CHAARG, and the STU Front Desk on campus. Lorelei's hobbies include anything outdoors - especially the beach and hiking, weightlifting, and cooking/ baking. Lorelei intends to leverage her connections to the military and her leadership skills to advocate for students like you!
