SGA was among the most important parts of my time at UMass Amherst. Not only did it give me a unique opportunity to hone key skills like professional communication and time management, but it also allowed me to give back to the community in ways that aren't possible through other campus organizations. Entering my career, I feel well prepared to meet the demands of high-paced work environments and present a better version of myself, thanks to my time in SGA.

It was a privilege serving as the SGA Speaker, partially because it's rare to see student power in the way it's displayed on the UMass Amherst campus. Following graduation I began working as a Campaign Financing and Events Fellow for Left Rising and was selected as one of the Massachusetts State Senate Presidential Fellows before beginning my Masters at Columbia University. The growth and development I experienced as a Speaker not only helped mold my character, but it drastically prepared me for interactions post graduation. You build such persistence, tenacity, and leadership skills many people learn later in life at such a young age.
