The Gloucester Marine Station is also committed to the development of a community that recognizes and encourages the power of diverse perspectives and mutual respect. We are committed to the success and well-being of every individual in our community regardless of group identity. In alignment with UMass Amherst’s actions toward building a more diverse and inclusive community, we are working from the Department of Environmental Conservation Anti-Racism Action Plan. This plan’s action items include: 1) dismantling structural elements that maintain the status quo; 2) combating complacency; 3) embedding learning about social justice; 4) increasing accountability and transparency.

Gloucester Marine Station is committed to diversity.
