Dear subscribers, The AJS Sephardi/Mizrahi Caucus Discussion List is undergoing exciting changes related to growth in the Caucus itself. Amalia Levi (University of Maryland) and Evie Dean-Olmsted (Indiana University) will be moderating the list and working to create in the near future a dynamic website to facilitate scholarship, communication and collaboration among Sephardi/Mizrahi Studies scholars and students. As an initial step towards this direction, we will also announce the establishment of a temporary wiki platform as a central point of collecting material pertinent to our discipline (this will be up and running in early 2011). The wiki will give the opportunity to people to contribute actively their knowledge, announcements, and material, if they so wish. The wiki will only be a temporary platform until a more permanent presence is established. Components of the wiki will include, but not be limited to, Sephardic resources, announcements, bibliographies, syllabi etc. We expect the email list to resume functionality in November, 2010. Announcements can be sent to Evie and Amalia at mailto:sephardimizrahicaucus@googlegroups.com. In addition, please take the time to respond to a brief survey about how you would like to see communication among Caucus members evolve. The survey can be found by contacting me. We look forward to hearing from you! Mark Kligman
