Session participants should provide session organizers with all the required information, as listed below and on the AJS website, so the organizer can submit the session proposal in its entirety. Session participants should not independently submit their proposals; this may result in the proposal not being matched with the correct session. The system is set up for the organizer to submit all the necessary information. Make sure all participants in your session (Organizer, Chair, Respondent, Discussant, Paper Presenter, etc.) have paid the 2007 Advanced Conference Registration Fee and 2007-2008 AJS Membership Dues via the AJS website <http://www.ajsnet.org/register_conf.htm> . Collect the following personal information from each participant in your session: * Institutional Affiliation * Position * Student status (yes/no check box) * Payment Confirmation Code ("contribution number") from making online payment for Conference Registration Fee and Membership Dues. The Claims Conference administers compensation funds, recovers unclaimed Jewish property, and allocates funds to institutions that provide social welfare services to Holocaust survivors and preserve the memory and lessons of the Shoah. The Claims Conference is pleased to announce a program of grants to institutions for research and documentation on the Sephardic experience during the Shoah. Project proposals are sought concerning Jews and Jewish life throughout the Mediterranean and in the Levant immediately preceding World War II, during the Holocaust, and in the Shoah’s immediate aftermath. Projects concerning the Jews of North Africa are particularly encouraged, although projects on the European Sephardic experience will also be considered. Priority will be given to research projects and archival related projects.
