Proposals to create new academic programs or revise existing programs are submitted through the UMass Course and Curriculum Management System (CCMS).
Program proposals include creating or revising an academic degree program (major), minor, concentration, certificate, accelerated masters option, dual masters program, or joint degree. Please note that new Letters of Specialization are not proposed or approved through the CCMS.
Faculty or administrators interested in proposing a new undergraduate or graduate academic degree program should contact Michelle Budig, Senior Vice Provost for Faculty & Academic Affairs (budig@umass.edu ) for preliminary information before submitting any materials to the online system. The Provost's Office will assist departments with preliminary approval materials that must be reviewed by the University of Massachusetts Board of Trustees before a final application may be submitted.
Facuty or administrators interested in proposing a new exchange program with a university outside the USA should contact Kalpen Trivedi, Director of the International Programs Office (ktrivedi@umass.edu) for guidance regarding the process of establishing exchange programs.
