Charge:
Charge The Joint Task Force on Generative AI shall examine the following as its charge:
- current and future use cases of generative AI at educational institutions;
- university processes that could consider utilizing generative AI technologies responsibly;
- potential impacts of the appropriate adoption of generative AI on teaching, research, service, and administrative processes and its use by external vendors, including an examination of both the appropriate and inappropriate use of such technology; and
- the implications of generative AI for educational records, research data, scholarship and creative works, rights in relation to university-based data (e.g., files, audio and video recordings), intellectual property, consent, and privacy.
The Joint Task Force on Generative AI shall make recommendations related to the appropriate use of generative AI at UMass Amherst.
