Resolutions are passed by a majority in the Faculty Senate and are meant to express a general support for a particular notion or message that the Faculty Senate agrees with. Resolutions, in contrast to Acts, are non-binding pieces of legislation for the UMass community. They typically include statments on current events or recommendations for particular issues that need potenial resolutions.
