The Research Computing Committee is a subsidiary body of the Research Council defined in Chapter 5, Section 14, Subsection 3 of the Faculty Senate Bylaws.
Charge:
The Research Council will review, evaluate, and advise the Council and the Campus Administration concerning policies and campus resources that support the varies research computing and research data management needs of campus scholarly and academic researchers. Its purview includes, but is not necessarily limited to:
(a) Infrastructure for research computing and research data management on campus and beyond;
(b) Policies and priorities concerning such infrastructure and its management;
(c) Strategic planning concerning such infrastructure and its management; and
(d) Compliance with related requirements, including access to, handling, and reservation of sensitive data.
Membership:

(a) One designated by the Research Council from among its members, four designated by the Faulty senate with attention to the diversity of scholarly and research use of computing and data be researchers of this campus, and one designated from among its members by the Information by the Information and Computer Technology Council to also serve as liaison to that Council;

(d) One member designated by the Vice Chancellor for Research and Engagement having expertise in compliance;

(e) One graduate student designated by the graduate Student Senate;
(f) One undergraduate student designated by the Student Government Association
It shall make its recommendations with respect to the above to the Research Council, the Vice Chancellor for Research and Engagement, the Vice Chancellor for Information Technology/Chief Information Officer, and the Dean of Libraries, and shall also provide an annual report summarizing its activities and recommendations to to the Research Council, the Vice Chancellor for Research and Engagement, the Vice Chancellor for Information Technology/Chief Information Officer, and the Dean of Libraries.
