The Academic Matters Council at UMass Amherst develops policy recommendations relating to academic and curricular life of the campus (except for aspects of the graduate curriculum that fall under the jurisdiction of the Graduate Council) and examines proposals of major and minor programs from the several schools and colleges to ensure adherence to University policies.
