SBS Non-Tenure System Faculty Professional Development Grant

We anticipate at least eight grant per year, of up to $1,000 each from SBS, to be matched 1:1 by departments, for a total maximum grant of $2,000 per person. The grants can be used for conference attendance, curricular development, research related to teaching/advising, and other responsibilities related to the faculty member’s position.
Grant Eligibility
These grants are open to full-time faculty outside the tenure system and are intended to recognize past achievements in teaching, advising, leadership, and service and provide opportunities to further enhance success in these areas.
Grant Timeline
The yearly deadline for applications is mid-October. The upcoming deadline is October 14, 2022. Recipients will be announced by December 1, 2022.
Application Criteria
Applications must include the applicant's Short CV and a Proposal Narrative and Budget. Applications will include evidence that the grant would assist the applicant in teaching and advising or related activities, and a suitable budget. The proposal narrative should include a description of achievements in teaching, advising, leadership and service and a discussion of how the grant would further enhance the applicant’s success in these areas. The proposal narrative should not exceed three single-spaced pages, though additional pages may be used for a bibliography if one is needed. A budget should be on a separate and final page of the proposal narrative. Please note that incomplete or noncompliant proposals may be ruled ineligible and eliminated from the pool.
