The University of Massachusetts Amherst

Event Planning Guide

UMass Amherst local cities and towns have a wide variety of venues for events of all sizes. Below you'll find information on these venues, as well as on catering, lodging, and transportation. We also recommend downloading the comprehensive PDF versions of the Event Planning Guide, as well as the Event Planning Worksheet and Guidelines for Bringing Speakers to Campus.

Given the current COVID-19 limitations, however, nearly all of our events have transitioned into virtual spaces, primarily through Zoom. When planning virtual events, consider our recommended settings for Zoom webinars. For details on acquiring a webinar license, consult UMass IT's webinar license page

If you have any questions related to event planning, contact Saulo DePaula, Director of Analytics and Operations.

When scheduling an event, always check for conflicts and holidays on the academic calendar and on the university events schedule. Once your event has an established date, you may request that it be posted on the university events schedule (university login required).

Contact the SBS Comunications Team to post an event on SBS news feeds and social media.
