Event Planning Guide

UMass has a wide variety of rooms on campus for events of all sizes. Below you'll find information on all types of campus spaces as well as off-campus options for both catering and room reservations. Consult our UMass Venue Guide for a comprehensive "cheat sheet" of common on-campus event rooms and capacities, and contact Emilie Ferreira if you have any questions.

Scheduling

When scheduling an event, double check for conflicts/holidays on the academic calendar and the university events schedule. Once you have a date established, enter it on the university events schedule.

Contact Emilie Ferreira to post event on SBS news feed and social media.

On-Campus Catering Options

UMass Catering caters to every building on campus. Outside catering options cannot be used in the Student Union and Campus Center. These include the Student Union Ballroom, Cape Cod Lounge and Campus Center Auditorium. They can be reached at (413) 577-8200 or at ccevents@umass.edu.

  • Rooms on the first floor by the Campus Center Auditorium – the 100s – would not require a fee for an event with on-campus attendees. This is the same for meeting rooms on the 9th floor.

  • Amherst Room & Hadley Rooms, on the 10th floor, would require a fee if food is not being served.
