Award Background
David J and Cindy Der Hagopian Scholarship: This scholarship, exclusively available to students from Florida, is meant to encourage prospective students to stretch beyond their state borders and pursue their educational goals at UMass. The University of Massachusetts Amherst is a top ranked public research university and a place of tremendous cultural diversity where students learn to excel while pursuing a full range of undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees.
Award Details
This generous award is meant to help alleviate the customary financial burdens that come with out of state residence, and covers the gap between in state and out of state tuition (estimated to be $18,000 per year). This award is renewable for up to three years provided that the recipient meets the qualifications of high need, as determined annually by the FAFSA, and maintains a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5

Please complete the application below, along with the FAFSA form if you would like to be considered for the David J. and Cindy Der Hagopian Scholarship. Though the application process is managed by the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, students intending to major in any academic department at UMass Amherst will be considered.
