Info Session: Summer Abroad at the University of Cape Town

Monday, December 11, 2017 - 4:00pm
ILC 3rd Floor Communication Hub

Learn about this new seven-week program, where you will earn a semester's worth of UMass credits (13-15) in disciplines such as Political Science, History, Economics, and Sociology. Courses will be taught by both UMass and UCT professors and you'll be studying alongside students from Africa, Asia, and the Pacific in this immersive experience.

And remember, the total cost for the program (including tuition, airfare, housing, and food) is thousands of dollars less than a semester of in-state tuition and on-campus housing at UMass!

The info session will be led by the UMass professors who will be teaching at UCT for the summer program, UMass student Emily Stein, who studied in Cape Town last spring semester, and representatives from the UMass International Programs Office.

Faculty include:

Dr Joye Bowman and Dr John Higginson who will be teaching History 260: Power and violence in South Africa  (fulfills a GenEd requirement)

Dr Jen Lundquist who will be teaching Sociology 261: Demography: Sex, Life and Dying  (fulfills a GenEd requirement)
