Doing Good with Data. That’s the DACSS motto. We are a STEM-certified Master’s degree program at UMASS Amherst that combines quantitative and qualitative methods to understand data and the stories it tells. We teach what questions to ask; how to collect the data; how to clean and analyze data; and, how to visualize the data so the non-expert can understand. If you want to solve problems, you need social data science skills. We offer flexibility. Choose your own concentration. 4+1 accelerated, traditional 18 month or part time options. Offered multimodally, online or in-person.
