Sean Dandley ’85

Sean Dandley is president and CEO of DSCI Corporation, a telecommunications firm he founded in 2000. While the company initially resold telecommunications services from other service providers, in 2005 it built its own carrier-class IP network. The company now serves more than 1,100 customers, primarily in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island, but extends its reach to over 600 cities in 60 countries on 6 continents. Besides being tops in customer service, DSCI has been named one of the best places to work in the region—twice—by Boston Business Journal.

Prior to starting DSCI, Dandley worked for New England Telephone and then NYNEX/Bell Atlantic agents, focused on sales and sales management of services to small and medium enterprises. Looking for a new challenge, he and his business associates started their first start-up, Digital Signal, in 1997. The following year, he was part of the team that created Digital Broadband, which purchased Digital Signal.

Dandley completed his B.A. in Journalism at UMass Amherst in 1985 and his MBA from Bentley University in 1987. He and his wife Jayne ’85 (nursing) have two children who are also attending UMass Amherst, Erinn is studying bioengineering and Michael is in the studio arts program.
