Kent Elwell ’83

Kent Elwell began his career in 1983 as a trading assistant at Lehman Brothers. The following year he moved to the government bond trading desk at First Boston Corporation where he was later promoted to bond trader. Over the next few years, Elwell worked for different firms in different capacities as he searched for the next big thing. That opportunity arrived on February 1, 1993 when he joined Oppenheimer Funds as a regional sales rep.

He earned his BA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1983 with a major in Economics. Elwell lives in Yardley, PA, with his wife, Betsy, their three children, Sara, Michael, and James, and a nutty dog named Fonzie.
