Elizabeth Segers ’81

Elizabeth R. Segers is a partner at Empirical Research Partners in NYC, a broker-dealer founded in 2002 with the aim of providing high quality research on a wide range of topics of interest to institutional investors. Her focus is on the money management business. She joined ERP in May 2009. Segers also maintains a private research consulting practice of her own.

Prior to Empirical, Segers was a managing director and head of market planning and development at Putnam Investments where she worked for nearly a dozen years. Prior to Putnam, she worked in banking and at Fidelity Investments, always focused on market research and investor behavior. Segers has over 28 years experience in the investment and banking industries. 

Segers holds her NASD Series 7 license and was named by Pensions and Investments as one of the top 25 people to watch in the next 25 years. Within the community, her passion has been serving as a mentor and math tutor in urban education for many years.

Segers received her B.A. in Economics in 1981 from UMass Amherst, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
