SBS Peer Advisors

128 Thompson Hall

10:00 am - 4:00 p.m, Mon-Fri when classes are in session

In addition to the advising you receive from the professional staff and your major department, the Advising Center offers supplemental advising from Peer Advisors. Peer Advisors are students like you, who can provide useful insight into many aspects of academic life at SBS and UMass Amherst. PAs are sophomores, juniors and seniors selected by application and interview who participate in a leadership seminar and training. Offering unique guidance based on this special training and their personal experiences, PAs can help you:

  • Navigate your way through the University and its resources
  • Learn and understand the General Education Requirements
  • Learn and understand the SBS Global Education Requirements
  • Determine which courses may be of particular interest to you
  • Set an enrollment plan of action for future semesters
  • Become aware of SBS events and programs
  • Find information on internships, studying abroad, multicultural services and much more!
