Club Officer Status

Friends, fellow club members, and you random people who may stumble upon this website:

I have made a grave mistake in estimating the amount of free time I will have this year to run the club. Over the past few weeks handling simple tasks such as depositing money into the club accounts, making a member roster, and ordering our jerseys has become fatally slow. It's not because I don't want to do it, but I just can't find the time inbetween classes and HW. This is very disturbing as it means the club will probably become disfunctional as it was this past weekend for practice. My time to coordinate people to meet for practice departure was completely uncalled for and was a direct result of me not even having time to write in the forums or on this homepage; and it will get uglier as my classes get to more difficult material...

I ask the following of anyone who just joined:

We need someone to be the club treasurer and president. Other duties can be assigned thereafter this occurs (if it does). Surprisingly you don't have to be an upperclassman to run a club, and in fact, it is better to run it when you are a freshman or sophomore; you will have more time to get things done.

I and the other officers will be around to make the transition smooth and offer guidance on the tasks needed to be completed to ensure a healthy organization. It will take about a semester's length to train, but after that it should be quite repetitive and easy to deal with.

All the account information and logins for webpages, our funds at the Student Resource Center, and etc will be given.

Time is very short. The final officer orientation meeting of the year is this saturday. Short notice, but it reall just hit me that I cannot do this well anymore. I apologize and hope the future of the club is good. I want it that way! I will not screw over an organization I created, so please help keep this going as the longer it exists the more money and possibilities will come about.

Sorry if this sounds bad, but I had little time to write it all down and think about it..... I'm that busy.... = (

Intro Meeting For New People and Old

Okay, this coming Wednesday the 13th will be a meeting to introduce everyone new to the club how everything works. There will be detail packages made that describe how an RSO at UMass functions and what your role as a member of the club involves, which is not much besides participation and money (but that may be a problem).

I do believe we will have it some time after 6 or 6:30 so that people can get dinner and eat while we go over things.

The tentative place for the meeting is at the Union Billiards in the campus center across from the Hatch food court.
