BIO

Millan was an undergraduate student in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at University of Massachusetts Amherst.  As a FIRST alumnus of eight years, his primary expertise is in robotics engineering, though he also has a passion for automotive engineering.

As a member of the DARoS laboratory, he worked on hardware design and an exoskeleton project. For his honors thesis in the Human Robot Systems Laboratory (HRSL), he designed and manufactured an excavator for a mobile robot to compete in the NASA lunabotics challenge. As part of his senior design project, he worked in a team to develop the UMass inHand gripper, which is a tool designed to be used with a single human hand to train the robot’s arm to perform grasping tasks with greater human-like movement.

He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2023.
