Calder was an undergraduate student in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and a graduate student in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at University of Massachusetts Amherst. He was a member of the Human Robot Systems Laboratory (HRSL) and the UMass Integrative Locomotion Lab (UMILL). In HRSL, he designed and manufactured adjustable air pockets to be used in variable stiffness footwear for post-stroke gait and balance rehabilitation.
He received his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
Calder is now a PhD student at Northeastern University.
