An opportunity for members of the Northeast robot manipulation research community to meet and talk in person, share ideas, and become familiar with each other’s work.
Registration is free and includes lunch, coffee breaks, and an evening reception. All attendees are encouraged to register in advance so we can plan accordingly.
A brief 1-2 page abstract (excluding references) is required for submission and may include published or unpublished work. Short Talks: Due May 10 and Posters: Due May 25.
The University of Massachusetts Amherst will host the New England Manipulation Symposium (NEMS) 2026 on June 16–17, 2026, bringing together researchers from across the Northeast working in robot manipulation. The symposium focuses on topics including mechanisms, control, learning, perception, planning, and benchmarking for manipulation systems.
NEMS provides a forum for faculty, students, and early-career researchers to present current work, exchange ideas, and strengthen regional collaboration in robotics. The program will include technical talks, posters, demonstrations, lab tours, and workshops on reproducibility, benchmarking, and soft robotics for manipulation.
The event is part of a growing regional effort to connect manipulation researchers and support open, collaborative progress in robotics research and benchmarking within the ecosystem.
