Donna Spraggon

Donna Spraggon is returning to the Department of Resource Economics as a lecturer, where she will be teaching Introductory Statistics for Social Sciences (RESECON 212). She previously served as a project manager and researcher with the UMass Donahue Institute, focusing on quantitative analysis and evaluation of programs in education and higher education. Outside of work, Donna enjoys spending time with her husband John, son Liam, and dogs Storm and Leila. She's looking forward to reengaging with the ResEc family!

Pan Chen

Assistant Professor Pan Chen joins the Department of Resource Economics from the University of Colorado Boulder. His research focuses on environmental and development economics, with particular interests in how environmental policies affect firms and households and how economic development shapes environmental outcomes.

Danny Han

Danny Han joins the Department of Resource Economics as an Assistant Professor. His research sits at the intersection of environmental, public, and urban economics, investigating how environmental disamenities—from EPA Superfund sites to land subsidence—impact housing markets, residential sorting, and public health outcomes. In particular, he analyzes how information provision and media coverage shape market valuations of these hazards. Beyond his research, he is excited to teach RESECON 263 (Natural Resource Economics) this semester and connect with students. Prior to joining UMass, he was a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at Arizona State University and received his PhD in Economics from Duke University.
