Reese Kurt is a senior majoring in Managerial Economics. She has worked with Dr. Emily Wang on research examining the relationship between companies’ artificial intelligence disclosures and firm valuation, and gained experience collecting data and conducting statistical analysis for academic research. She is currently writing an academic manuscript based on this research.

Over the summer, she worked as a research assistant for Dr. Christoph Bauner, helping construct a dataset of merger histories in the U.S. insurance industry. This semester, she is working as a research assistant with both Dr. Bauner and Dr. Wang, continuing to develop her research and data analysis skills.

Outside of her academic work, she serves on the Panhellenic Executive Board as the VP of Finance. In her free time, she explores the economics of online radicalization, particularly how economic insecurity and digital platforms’ financial incentives shape political beliefs in online communities. After graduating in May 2027, she intends to continue working in economic research and eventually pursue a PhD in economics.
