Sustain Resistance Studies Initiative

Resistance Studies, the first of its kind anywhere in the world, supports unarmed struggles against all forms of exploitation and violence. It strives to understand the dynamic relations among forms of resistance and power and how they relate to social change.

There Are Several Ways To Give.

Provide a one-time gift or offer sustained monthly support. Both types of gifts can be made online through the secure UMass website. Click on “Give now” and choose "other" under Fund Designation and enter "Resistance Studies" in the box below. Your gift will help strengthen the Resistance Studies internship program, scholars, fellows, and general programming.

Host an intern Many students are eager to work with Resistance Studies to learn from real world experiences. If you are interested in providing an Internship to a current student, please contact Internship Director, Alyssa Cote.

Support a Resistance Studies Scholar or Fellow Your gift can specifically contribute to supporting any of our scholars or fellows who are involved in bridging between activists and academics, teaching or conducting research relevant to resistance and nonviolence.

Establish an endowment for Resistance Studies, which would provide vital long-term support.

Please contact Christine Wais at 413-577-1204 or email her at cwais@umass.edu for more information about developing an endowment or making a more impactful yearly pledge.
