Dialog Among Resistance Movements with Mandy Carter

October 15, 2016 - 10:30am to 6:00pm
The Lounge, First Congregational Church, UCC · 165 Main St, Amherst, MA, USA

Organized by The New England War Tax War Resisters (NEWTR), partnering with the New England War Resisters League, the Maine War Tax Resistance Resource Center and the Resistance Studies Initiative.

While we speak of the intersection-ality of racism, sexism, classism, homophobia, war, climate change, and economic exploitation, too often we do not go beyond the rhetoric. Do our actions match our analysis?  We invite you to make time to engage in dialog – listening as well as talking – with those involved in other issues and movements.  We need to explore how we can work together. Our issues are connected, our resistance needs to be connected as well.

Mandy Carter, who has a long history of multi-racial, multi-issue organizing and multi-generational organizing, will share her insights an move us in dialog about the challenges we all face, strategies for change, and deepen the intersectionality of our struggles.

There is no charge for this event, although we need people to register so they can plan. Please let them know if you need childcare.
Join for dinner from 6–7pm, $10 for those not attending the NEWTR gathering.
