397C Health Economics

The goal of this course is to introduce students to the theory and methods of health economics and demonstrate how these methods can be applied to analyze issues in health policy and management. This course will teach students to use economic analysis to understand critical issues in health care and health policy. We will explore how social scientists address empirical questions in the business and policy of health care, the methods and types of data that are available, how we can use data to answer policy-relevant questions. Prerequisite: RES-ECON 202 or ECON 203
